چکیده

Abstract Fast gas heating in a pulsed nanosecond capillary discharge pure CO 2 under the conditions of high specific deposited energy (around 1.2 eV/molecule) and reduced electric fields (150–250 Td) has been studied experimentally numerically. Specific energy, field temperature have measured as functions time. The radial distribution electron density analyzed experimentally. role quenching O( 1 D), S) CO(a 3 ?) excited atoms molecules leading to heat release at sub-microsecond time scale by numerical modeling framework 1D axial approximation.

Fast gas heating in N2/O2 mixtures under nanosecond surface dielectric barrier discharge: the effects of gas pressure and composition.

The fractional electron power quickly transferred to heat in non-equilibrium plasmas was studied experimentally and theoretically in N(2)/O(2) mixtures subjected to high electric fields. Measurements were performed in and after a nanosecond surface dielectric barrier discharge at various (300-750 Torr) gas pressures and (50-100%) N(2) percentages. Observations showed that the efficiency of fast...

Fast gas heating in nitrogenoxygen discharge plasma: II. Energy exchange in the afterglow of a volume nanosecond discharge at moderate pressures

The process of fast gas heating in air in the near afterglow of a pulsed nanosecond spatially uniform discharge has been investigated experimentally and numerically at moderate (3−9 mbar) pressures and high (200−400 Td) reduced electric fields. The temporal behavior of discharge current, deposited energy, electric field and temperature were measured. The role of processes with participation of ...

Nanosecond-scale kinetics of nematocyst discharge

dispersed genes in different lineages. First, the cluster may have been broken up in organisms with elevated rates of genome evolution, such as C. intestinalis, C. elegans and Drosophila melanogaster. This implies that cluster integrity in other lineages may not be due to selection. Conversely, clusters may have been maintained in some lineages due to selection. This would imply a relaxation of...

Electronically Excited States of Interstellar Anions

In the search for carriers of the diffuse interstellar bands (DIBs), a nearly ubiquitous, as-of-yet unattributed interstellar absorption spectrum, new theories are being proffered to explain this astronomical phenomenon. One of these is that rarely occurring excited states of anions may be responsible for some of these features. Using state-of-the-art quantum chemical techniques we examine near...

On the electronically excited states of uracil.

Vertical excitation energies in uracil in the gas phase and in water solution are investigated by the equation-of-motion coupled-cluster and multireference configuration interaction methods. Basis set effects are found to be important for converged results. The analysis of electronic wave functions reveals that the lowest singlet states are predominantly of a singly excited character and are th...
